Colehill Community Grit Bin Replaced
By DomCar | Tuesday, November 08, 2011, 10:34
Sometime during the summer some unscrupulous person, or as I call them 'some thieving little git', emptied the grit out on to the road and stole the Parish grit bin situated at the junction of Jessopp Road and Cutlers Place.

Colehill Parish Council grit bin which was stolen during the summer. Do you know who has it?
No doubt the bin is now gracing someone's garden, storing tools or holding plants and I hope it's on display enough that someone will spot it and report them for the theft.
That part of Jessopp Road is quite steep and during the cold harsh winter we had last year it became very dangerous for vehicles, which is why the Parish Council provided a grit bin for residents to grit the road themselves during the worse of the weather. Now Colehill Parish Council have had to replace the bin in readiness for what is expected to be another harsh winter, at a time when everyone, including Colehill Parish Council, are having to tighten their belts. This unnecessary expense has dwindled the Parish Council's coffers even further and could lead to other services not being given the funding they so desperately need, all because of one person's selfishness.
If anyone knows who stole the grit bin, or knows of its whereabouts, please get in touch with either PC Steve Brett or PCSO Matt Johnson on 01202 22 22 22.
Remember the grit bin was there for your, and your families', safety. Let's hope the new bin doesn't get pinched either.

That is just stupid. Can't people keep their thieving hands to themselves?
