A-Level students of Wimborne's Queen Elizabeth's School achieved an excellent number of results with an overall pass rate of 98.4%. 45% of those grades were between A* - B and over 71% between A* - C.

The traditionally exacting subjects such as Mathematics, Sciences and Modern Foreign Languages all experienced especially high performances with 72% A*- C and 70% A* - C respectively. It's also great to hear that 75% of students exceeded their set target grades in an impressive year for Wimborne students.

And for those who didn't do so well, then don't worry you can always retake them next year. If you don't want to go back straight away, again don't worry. After all I didn't go on to the sixth form and left school at 16, but I did go back into higher education 11 years later to do an A-Level followed by a degree. Just because you failed once doesn't mean you should give up. Trust me, if I can do it then so can you – and I'm the least academic person you are ever likely to meet. I'm not saying you should leave it as many years as I did, just take a year out, do a bit of travelling, see the world, live a little and then come back to them refreshed.

Jolly well done one and all.
