Congratulations are due to Wimborne after another incredibly successful Food Festival at the weekend.

WimbornePeople.co.uk headed into town on Saturday afternoon and we were greeted by a heaving town centre, packed with food lovers and casual browsers all enjoying the stalls and the entertainment on offer.

The square had been transformed into a bustling market, with food from all corners of the globe, hot and ready to delight tastebuds. Beautiful sunny weather added to the sense of occasion, there hasn't been many times you can say that this past year.

It almost seemed, while trying to get entry into the marquee on the Minster green, that organisers had underestimated how popular the event would be. People were queuing up to see what was inside, and once you got it there was barely enough room  to move around the wealth of displays.

While we would have loved to have sampled everything on offer, our stomachs are only so big so we had to choose wisely. I was happy with my spiced pork belly roll, from the stall near Waitrose, while my partner (limited by gluten intolerance - why does everything at foody events come in a bap?) sampled a Pad Thai Prawn dish. Our dog got an Antler Chew and seemed very pleased with that.

Did you visit the Wimborned Food Festival? What did you think? More importantly, what did you eat?

As always a great event aided by the lovely weather. The marquee on the green is the same every year a real crush but unfortunately it is unable to be much bigger that at present. What I was really pleased about was the layout of the stalls in the square . In previous years they have been backing onto the local shops and thus obscuring them and preventing passing trade not so this year well done to the organisers. A real crowd puller every year and long may it continue.
