Yate returned to winning form with victory over struggling Wimborne in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.

Rob Cousins' side struck early in each half and could have won by a lot more if they had converted more of their numerous chances.

The visitors took just eight minutes to establish their lead, Robin Nicholls cutting inside and firing a firm shot past the goalkeeper.

It was not all one-way traffic, though, and player-boss Cousins had to make a goal-line clearance as Wimborne looked for an equaliser.

However, the game was effectively finished off three minutes into the second period when Stone broke through to make it 2-0.
