A couple from Corfe Mullen are hoping to help home owners across Dorset cut their energy bills and become more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Mike and Julie Stephenson have always shared a passion for ecological and green issues, and with their friend Paul Bullimore, set up H2 Eco - operating from their base at Holton Heath.

H2Eco specialises in solar energy, including PV solar panels and solar thermal (which is used for heating hot water.) They also supply and fit rainwater harvesting systems where all collected water can be re-used within the home to flush toilets and run washing machines etc; plus they install home energy management sytems which significantly reduce energy bills and help you use power more efficiently.

Mike commented, "Everyone is conscious of increasing energy bills, and renewable energy is one of the best ways people can invest in their homes and save money. The cost of installing solar panels has dropped significantly, and you can not only save money on bills, but get paid for any surplus energy fed back into the National Grid. You will also reduce your carbon emissions."

H2Eco has fitted out their works unit with all the latest gadgets and gizmo's and anyone is welcome to visit them by appointment to see just how beneficial renewables can be, and to see genuine cost cutting in practice.

Julie added, "Some people remain cynical about renewable energy and solar, but we are happy to offer free, no-obligation information and advice to anyone interested in finding out more. We believe that our business is successful because we come at it from passion, and we do not employ any pushy sales staff or pressure tactics. We are a small family firm, and believe that being honest and courteous is more important that pushing your message at people."

The government has recently made changes to the Feed in Tariff, and the H2 Eco team will be happy to explain the details to you more fully.
