Dorset is expected to turn white tomorrow.
Even areas close to sea such as Weymouth and Christchurch have the potential to see some snowfall, however the heaviest falls are expected in the north of the county, particularly on high ground areas like Shaftesbury.
The weather front is expected to arrive in Dorset at around 3am tomorrow morning (Friday 18th Jan) where it will hit cold air from the east and turn to snow.
Heavy snow is expected to fall throughout Friday with winds in high areas increasing the chances of drifting snow and blizzard conditions.
As the day continues the snow is expected to become sleet and finally rain, although forecasters are experiencing some uncertainty about how quickly this will happen.
Expect travel disruptions both on roads and public transport and the advice as always in these conditions is not to travel unless you have to.
