Wimborne and area crime statistics for August and September
During August 2011 in Wimborne there were a total of 93 crimes reported, 49 (more than half) of which were as a result of Anti Social Behaviour. Most of the Anti Social Behaviour complaints were centred on Wimborne Town centre and the Leigh Park Estate.
In September those figures increased to a whopping 103 reported crimes with Anti Social Behaviour falling slightly to 45, the majority of which were still focused in or around Wimborne Town centre. 4 of those reported crimes in the town centre were of a violent nature.
It does make you wonder how the introduction of Wetherspoons will affect those statistics, especially as they will likely open during the festive period. It will certainly be interesting to see if an abundance of cheap alcohol pays a significant part in those high levels of Anti Social Behaviour.
In Colehill however, crime fell between August and September. In august there were 31 reported crimes, 21 (two thirds) of which were due to Anti Social Behaviour. This is in contrast to September where only 17 incidents of crime were reported, 9 (about half) were reported as Anti Social Behaviour.
