Wimborne Folk Festival Sunday A Washout.

I love going to the Folk Festival on a Sunday to wander around all the market stalls in the Square and down the High Street. It's the highlight of the festival for me. When I woke on Sunday morning it was raining, but this didn't stop my family getting wrapped up in wellies and raincoats to brave the rain and walk down to Wimborne to join in all the fun. But I was to be disappointed.

Weather Washes Out Wimborne Folk Festival Sunday
When we got to the Square there were only a handful of market stalls pitched up and open, seven at the most, and even less punters. The only stalls that were open were the food stalls and their owners looked thoroughly depressed as they watched their day's profits wash down the drains. Even the pubs were deserted, all because of a little rain.
To be honest I felt a bit let down, after all my family made the effort to brave the weather to spend our money in the town centre, so why hadn't most of the stall holders bothered to turn up? It was an incredibly poor turnout. Indeed one stallholder was packing up as we arrived at 11am.
I wonder if they'll be demanding a refund on their pitches?
At least my son enjoyed himself splashing through all the puddles, and the ducks seemed to enjoy themselves too. Let's hope next year has better weather.

All I got was soggy feet and I didn't even get a chance to wear my festival hat :-(

ReportI too was a little disappointed with the lack of market stalls on Sunday. You would think they would have made a little effort wouldn't you? After all it was only a little bit of rain.

ReportI suspect hangovers had a part to play as well. It was a shame that Sunday was washed out, but the rest of the festival was thoroughly enjoyable.
