In November Wimborne Rugby Club expressed their anger at the amount of dog fouling on their pitches and were considering asking the local council to ban dog from the local playing fields.

Wimborne Rugby Club Fouling A Continuing Problem
Currently before each game members scour the playing fields for dog mess to reduce the risk of players landing in it during the game and it angers members that they have to do this.
I read with interest about how officers from Christchurch Council highlighted the problem of dog mess on Purewell Meadows by marking each dog fouling with a small yellow flag. As a result officers are now going to target the area, watching out for offenders and anyone caught not picking up after their dog could be given a £50 Fixed Penalty Notice. Could the same thing be applied to Wimborne Rugby Club and other parks used by dog owners to exercise their dogs?
As a dog owner myself I know that most are responsible and it's the few that give the rest a bad name. It's all well and good having these signs up telling dog owners they may be fined if they don't clear up after their dog, but where is the enforcement?
Do you think Wimborne Town Council should police parks and playing fields more in 2012?
