Having spent 17 years living and growing up in Colehil from 1974 onwards, and then moving back to the village in recent years, it's interesting to see what has changed and what has stayed the same.
For a start, the road system has gone completely bonkers, with immensely confusing chicanes and traffic calming systems along the length of Middlehill Road. Surely an accident waiting to happen?
The 'little school' part of Colehill First School is now a building site. Even the parade of shops has changed - who remembers Gwynnes Newsagents?! It was such a treat walking home from school at St Michael's to buy a few penny sweets or a Mr Freeze ice lolly on a hot day! The pharmacy that is there now used to be Don Palfrey's Butcher's shop, and it's only Headstart hairdressers that has stood the test of time.
But despite these obvious changes, the village remains largely unaltered - one of the reasons why I chose to move back with my family. It's a good place to bring up children, is right on the edge of the countryside and within easy reach of Wimborne.
What changes have you noticed in Colehill over the years?
