It saddens me that someone has felt it necessary to get their point accross using vandalism, and even more that waitrose has painted over such innocent scrawl. no swearwords have been used, and a valid opinion is being expressed.

Personally, I don't think that it was "innocent scrawl". It is vandalism and the person responsible seems to feel that he/she speaks for all the people of Wimborne. Just in case they are reading this I would like to let them know that they do NOT.
Yes the cricket ground was a lovely open space, yes it would have been preferable to keep it as such BUT it is private land and the owners were free to dispose of it as they wished. I am sad that it has gone, but I would rather have an additional amenity for Wimborne developed by an ethical, responsible company who have a reputation for engaging with the community, than flats with no public access land at all.
Nothing is going to change the fact that Waitrose is coming and rather than engaging in childish graffiti, let's move forward.
