Wimborne World Cup Fever

World Cup fever will descend on Wimborne and the rest of the country from Friday, but does this actually mean for local businesses as employees get caught up in England’s exploits in South Africa?

Come On England!!!
Most companies I think will be prepared bringing in TV’s for their staff to watch the big games while they are at work. But what about those companies who haven’t gotten into the spirit and can now expect a rush of sick employees on England match days, and maybe the day after too, depending on how bad a hangover they might be suffering from.
Let’s face it no employee has the legal right to have a day off to watch their country play in the World Cup. I know you might think it is, but I can assure you England playing football is not a national bank holiday. I know this for a fact, because I checked. Let’s hope employers are sensible about things and give their staff the flexibility to watch England win the World Cup.
People of Wimborne I call on you to fill those pubs showing matches to breaking point, to sing, to cheer, to encourage out beloved country on to World Cup glory.
I personally will be watching the first England match in the Party In The Paddock. See you there.

Even those who aren't originally from this country should cheer on England too...like the Welsh for example.
