Wimborne Folk Festival

With the Wimborne Folk Festival just over a week away where are families going to chill out this year?

It's Not Cricket
In previous years the cricket pitch has been used as an unofficial place for families to gather, to let their children wander around safely enclosed by wire fencing. You were happy knowing your children were never far away and couldn’t get lost. With the building of Waitrose on the old cricket pitch there really is no suitable place I can see for families to now go.
It’s important for families to have somewhere to go so they can escape the Morris-worshiping crowd. Let’s face it letting your young children wander around through all those crowds probably isn’t a good idea, as they could easily get lost. And it would be cruel to keep a child confined to a pushchair for hours on end with out allowing them out now and again to stretch their legs. After all you want your children to enjoy it, because if they do you get to stay longer.
A place of safety, a chill out area just for families is needed, even if there is a small charge for it. But what large open spaces of land are there near the town centre that families can use? None that I can think of, what about you?
Comments
I think the Party In The Paddock has got this covered now, but I shall be suggesting a special fenced off area for next year so that families have somewhere to relax and won't have to worry what their children are up to.
