How The Other Half Loves
at Wimborne
Delighted audiences at the Tivoli
rocketed with laughter at Wimborne Drama’s production of “How The
Other Half Loves” as Alan Ayckbourn’s famously dizzy comedy worked
its magic once again. Eccentric Senior Manager Frank (Jeremy Austin) has no
idea of the duplicitous antics of his wandering wife Fiona (Caroline Butcher) as she explores intrigues of
infidelity with Frank’s right-hand man Bob (Steve Symonds). Well-meaning
Frank’s efforts at promoting the welfare of his staff soon involve
Bob’s wife Terry (Penny Pearson) in the deception, along with upcoming accountant
William (Peter Brown), and his wife Mary (Keely Campbell). Graham
Hawkins’ first foray into directing assembled a dynamic mixture of
newcomers and old stagers to inhabit the eclectic cast of characters in this
well-known study of manners and class.
Linda Kirkman “Scene
One”
“….it was a brave decision on the part of Graham Hawkins to
choose as his directorial debut a play where the set is actually two different
rooms in two different houses... …. but in fact it worked like a dream.”
