Dog control orders are likely to be put in place across parts of Corfe Mullen as well as Ferndown and the issue of how they wlll be enforced is on the agenda as well.
A recent publlc meeting at the Allendale Centre was attended by over 200 people and emotions ran high as some attendees had not realised that only those requesting permission to speak in advance were able to vent their feelings.
A consultation at the end of 2009 had nearly 350 responses and a number of petitions have also been received – it remains likely however that the orders wil be made and seeing dogs running freely around places such as Corfe Mullen playing fields will soon become a thing of the past.
The subject of whether or not dogs should be allowed to run free on playing fields has divided Corfe Mullen residents- one person certain to be happy if the ban is put in place is the groundsman who have the unpleasant task of cleaning up after dog fouling incidences before matches can be played.
Time will tell just how the situation is handled and how the dog owners react as currently there are only two dog wardens covering East Dorset.
What do you think? Are you for the ban or against?
