The possibility of creating allotments on an area of land in Colehill will need to be rethought by the Parish Council. Four letters of support for the scheme were received by the planning committee but eleven against. In addition Natural England, the Environment Agency and Dorset Wildlife Trust also objected, all concerned about the effect on the habitat. Ecological reports also highlighted the adverse affects the allotments would have on the area of land selected.

It appears the issue is not that the allotments should happen but more where the site should be. The Parish Council will meet again to debate this issue but in the meantime anyone with suggestions is asked to contact the council.
