Thanks, this is really helpful. Actually I popped in to The Green Man today and ate at The Kings Head recently too! the service was really slow but the food was excellent!

ReportHi Lucy,
I'm in contact with the landlady of the Albion, so will let you know when I see her. ( They are on facebook if you want to find out yourself.)
As for the pubs, we get lots of info in the barbers. The Olive Branch is a good wine bar with a fantastic ambiance. Costs a little more than the others, but it's worth it.
The Green Man has a good reputation with the locals, being family run and typically traditional. The floral displays in the summer show hours of care and attention from the landlord's Mum and are quite spectacular.
The White Heart has special attractions, for example, Friday nights at aprox 6~6:30 they have a meat draw of about 6 different cuts, all produced from Oakley Butchers in Merley. The tickets are only £1 each. On this night they put out sausages, chips and thick white hand cut crusty bread, for the customers to help themselves....great after a hard weeks work. The food is good and the staff friendly.
The Kings Head has had more mentions than usual this month. Lots of people going there for meals and enjoying it. One of my elderly customers lokes to go there for a pint and a peice of cake before he gets his hair cut. He's diabetic and gets told off at home...so I won't mention any names!
