Not much use and yet another waste of money by the profligate councils of Dorset. The speed of traffic has not been reduced and indeed many use this chicane to practice their manoeuvring skills or to "chance their arm" or exert their dominance by coming through the junction when they should not.
Less that one mile away where the road continues down the hill along Smuggler's Lane, the road surface has been in a terrible state for quite some time now, exacerbated by the recent bad weather. The likeliehood of there being any repairs in the short to medium term by the Highways department are unlikely: still a bit further down the road, we have a chicane, dropped kerbs and other ornaments which have done nothing to deter the irresponsible driver at all.
It will be ever thus, but perhaps it might lead to a 20 mph speed limit eventually, which without question will improve safety, particularly of regularly monitored and supported by punitive measures in the form of fines and lost points on licenses.

They should have ripped them up and started again. The adjustments were a complete waste of time.
