If you Christmas Tree is looking a bit sorry now, and dropping needles all over your carpet, then it might be time to accept that Christmas is over and it's time for your festive centrepiece to be put to good use somewhere else.

Get it recycled
The good news is that real Christmas trees are being recycled by the council, or turned into compost more specifically.
East Dorset residents who already subscribe to the green waste collection service can simply cut their trees into small pieces and and put it in the garden waste bin.
If you don't subscribe to the green waste collection service but you'd still like your tree composted, then you should take it down to the nearest Household Recycling Centre.
As a last resort, if you put your tree next to your bin on the first collection after 6th January, it'll be taken to landfill.
