Just want to add a note: what a great little restaurant. Have been here for snacks (including the fantastic teacakes), and lunches, we can't fault it. Good freshly prepared food, polite and friendly service and very fair prices. What more could anyone ask. Brilliant!

Not so much a review - but on reading these ones - I will now go and try this little place! I have always gone to another tea room/coffee shops in Wimborne (shall remain nameless to be fair to them), but will be interesting to compare.....these reviews are great for the place, hope it lives up to it. Shall be popping in tomorrow !

Now this was my first visit to the Cloisters and I shyed away from the notorius colosal teacakes. I opted for a salad which I was very impressed with - fresh and terrific value. It's very easy to do a salad badly but the Cloisters got it just right - fresh, and thoughtful with flavour. I ordered my dressing on the side - it really was perfect.
Fantasic coffee afterwards - up yours Starbucks :) !!
Always the place to pop into when in town. Renowned for its nearly world famous tea cakes, Cloisters is a fantastic place to eat and always good value. The fact the place is always full is testament to the quality of the food and the decent prices.

Here we have a popular and busy licensed restaurant and coffee lounge in Wimborne that is located on East Street. The Cloisters despite it’s huge popularity has a relaxed atmosphere allowing you to enjoy a hot drink or a delicious freshly cooked full English breakfast or lunch meal or snack.

This place is busy all the time and sometimes you have to wait to get a seat. This speaks volumes about how popular this place is, and how established Cloisters has become in Wimborne. The food is good home cook fayre with lovely large portions. Their big breakfast is to die for and they are famous for their toasted tea cakes. And their milkshakes with added ice cream are just yummy.
I really do love this place. The service is always top notch, the staff pleasant and friendly, and they are always happy to have a good natter with you. The food is freshly cooked and abundant, at very competitive prices. The only criticism I have is that it can get very crowded, especially at weekends, so it's difficult to find a seat, or get to it, if you have a child and a pushchair.

Cloisters is a lovely little restaurant in East Street. The decor and service has a traditional feel, and creates a cosy, comforting atmosphere in which to enjoy your food. The menu includes everything from snacks perfect for elevenses to more substantial meals, all at very reasonable prices.
