Long Lane

We are now open from 12pm until 3pm and 5pm until 11pm from Monday to Friday. Saturdays we are open from 12pm until 11pm. Sunday hours are 12pm until 10.30pm.
I've been going here for years and really enjoying it. I visited last for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I'm always impressed with the food. The portions are on the large side and the price is always right. The only complaint I had on this visit was the wait for service. I know they were run off their feet, but the young waitresses had to be hunted down so we could get our desserts and bill. But I would like to stress we never usually have this trouble.

Barley Mow Inn is a beautiful country family run pub, serving great food and drink in a friendly atmosphere. Everyone welcome including dogs

I cycled to this pub with my wife and child and sat outside with a nice cold pint. The staff were friendly and the place was tidy. People were coming in early for their Sunday lunch so I assumed also served good food. Great location on the outskirts of town, so great for a bike ride pit stop.

Wow! what a great night...spent new years eve 2010 at the Barley Mow. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing food (a very impressive buffet spread with plenty of food), staff were very smart, attentive and truly in the spirit of the evening. Thank you to everyone at this fabulous family pub for a very memorable new year celebration!!!

Wow, this pub has changed for the better. They now have table service...can you believe that???? The menu has obviously changed and what you get now is good wholesome country food, with chunky carrots, large potatoes and delicious portions of meat. I had the steak pie and it was both warm and filling, and helped down by two lovely cold glasses of Guinness which were delivered to my table. It makes a great change than having to queue at the bar while you food is getting cold. A great family pub and restaurant.
This is the first time I''ve been here since it last changed hands. And I couldn''t fault it, in fact I think it''s improved. There is now table service which there never used to be, which means you don''t need to get up and queue every time you want a pint. The food was good old rustic fare, good farmhouse portions and well yummy. I had the steak and ale pie, which came with a fantastic horseradish mash. I''m going again soon, I can tell you.
At either end of Long Lane you have the Barley Mow and at the other end the Horns. Both offer variable service and food, with the Barley Mow having the edge in regard to the geniality of their staff.
I am sure that the new landlord/lady will improve the Barley Mow which is certainly streets ahead of the Stock's Inn which has really gone down the tube.

This place has had a few owners over the past couple of years, but one constant remains....the food and service are second to none in the area. Highly recommended.
